This premier event held in greater Los Angeles began in 2006 and reoccurs the first weekend of December each year. It is sponsored by the USJA/USJF Grassroots Judo™ partnership and hosted by Goltz Judo. In addition to being a traditional tournament for all age groups and skill levels, clinics are held focusing on coaching, kata, refereeing, and just about anything pertaining to the study and advancement of judo. The fee is nominal and all pre-registered participants get a free event t-shirt. Judo celebrities such as Ronda Rousey, Jimmy Pedro, Kayla Harrison, Gene LeBell, and Jim Bregman are often on hand to provide insights, autographs and photos opportunities. The USJA winter board of directors meeting is also held here and is open to all interested parties.
